Improvising and Arranging
Learn how to create your own arrangements from lead sheets. Also learn tricks to improvising musical interludes, and ways to spice up basic chords. Similarly, we will touch on how to use these skills to play with groups when only given a lead sheet or chord chart instead of having a part written out.

Music and Meditation: Instrumental songwriting as an act of prayer and worship
Learn how to take the prayers of your heart and turn them into song. Also learn the art of creating music that will lead people into a quiet place of meditating on God’s Word and listening for His voice.

Music and Healing
Learn the ways that music can affect hospital patients, their families, and the doctors and nurses who care for them. We will discuss how to determine appropriate music for particular areas of a hospital and for different age patients, as well as how to use live music to interact with patients and offer hope.

Collaborative Worship: A hands on workshop
Learn the art of collaborating with various musicians and instruments to create worship music together. We will use lead sheets of hymns and worship songs to work out parts for each participant.

Instrumental Songwriting
Learn how to write instrumental songs that can stand on their own. Learn basic chord structures and how to develop a melody.

Keys to Successful Freelancing
We will discuss how to develop the correct musical skill set to be a versatile freelance musician, as well as how to get and keep the gig.
