Weddings

Whether you picture your ceremony in a chapel, a vineyard, or a custom space, the harp will add an elegant touch. My repertoire list is always growing. I can help you select traditional music or contemporary songs to make your service unique.

 Women’s Retreats

One of my biggest passions is to use the harp to lead people into a place of worship and quiet meditation before God.  In a world that seems to always be on the go, it would be my pleasure to lead a time in response to the Father’s invitation to “be still and know that I am God”.

 Memorial Services

I have great compassion for those who have experienced loss. One of the greatest privileges I have as a musician is to enter into the grief process with others and offer music to help bring comfort, beauty and peace.

Orchestral

Available to contract for Orchestras in a three hour radius.

Concerts

Available for concerts in various capacities. Christmas, original works, classical performances, retirement community concerts.

Private Events

The harp is an elegant touch to any private event! Cocktail parties, showers, dinners..The harp itself is beautiful and the music will be a wonderful backdrop for your event.

Hospital Visits

Since the fall of 1997 BettyAshton and her harp have been a unique presence at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. While a student at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music, BettyAshton volunteered through the hospital’s Cultural Enrichment Program, playing the harp in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Upon graduating, the department helped create a position that would enable BettyAshton to be have a consistent presence in the hospital. In 2001 she became the Musician in Residence. Since then, she has been playing throughout the hospital on a regular basis in units including the Ingram Cancer Center, Paige Campbell Heart Institute, Pediatric Critical Care Unit, Surgery waiting areas, and of course the NICU. After years of consistency, the hospital staff has gotten used to seeing BettyAshton, affectionately known as “The Harp Lady”, wheeling her harp through the many wards of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital.

TODAY

Now in the Roanoke area, BettyAshton offers a unique service. Instead of sending flowers to your friend or loved one in the hospital, send the gift of live harp music. Having BettyAshton show up with her harp will bring more joy than you can imagine!
